Hi! I’m Amy.
Throughout my time as a teacher, I have taught both regular and advanced courses in chemistry and physics. I have also helped redesign curriculum at some of the most prestigious schools in LA and NYC. My student populations have varied, from English Language Learners from numerous countries to Modern Orthodox students enrolled in a dual curriculum of general and Judaic courses. Regardless of the environment, I always have the same goal: to provide a safe space where students feel supported throughout the learning process. I aim to meet students where they are while challenging them to perform at a higher level.
While completing my M.A. Ed. in Educational Psychology with a specialization in Gifted and Talented, I became increasingly interested in twice exceptionality. I began incorporating executive function strategies into my curriculum and saw the benefits first-hand. Teaching students the necessary skills to succeed gave them a deeper love and appreciation for the subject.
After coaching and tutoring part-time for over a decade, I finally made the switch to full-time two years ago. Whether it’s discussing 8th grade physical science or navigating the work-load of a college freshman, I enjoy working one-on-one with my students and watching them gain confidence to reach their potential.
My educational philosophy is deeply rooted in creating an environment that meets the academic, social, and emotional needs of all my students. My ultimate goal is to leave students with a deeper sense of self and a life-long love of learning.
I’m so glad you are here.
